OC-System

Newly appointed project manager makes use of his strong industrial experience

At OC-System since February, Project Manager Teemu Koljonen feels he has found his place. The experienced industrial engineer hopes customers will not to hesitate to contact him with their queries.

Teemu Koljonen’s tasks as a project manager include customer service and sales. However, he feels slightly apprehensive about using the word sales. Instead, his starting point is to listen to the needs of the customers.

Koljonen has no formal training in sales, but his strong knowledge of the industry allows him to listen to the customers and identify their needs. He has extensive industrial experience from the plastic industry and mechanical engineering, in particular.

Strength lies in identifying needs

With degrees in mechanical engineering and bio and circular economy, Koljonen is an expert in areas such as the protection of the industrial operating environment.

“Industrial operators do not always notice the things that could be improved. I have an extensive experience in the industrial sector, so I am good at identifying customer needs,” Koljonen explains.

Creating a safer and more comfortable working environment pushes him forward in his job.

“Shared goals with the customers make this work interesting and challenging. The feeling of success from positive projects is rewarding for all parties.”

“I am now entering completely new territory. Being a project manager brings together everything I have learned in my previous jobs,” he sums up.

Koljonen applies the Lean method in his work. Self-management with the correct tools ensures specific and systematic working methods. That what is started also gets finished.

Originally from Joensuu, Koljonen has moved around Finland for studies and work. He is now enjoying his return to Eastern Finland. Spending time in nature is important to him. His spare time is taken up by going fishing and hunting with his dog.

In the right place

Koljonen is happy with OC-System and the warm welcome he has received.

“I am very happy with the welcome I have received. I have been involved in a number of projects in different sectors. This place is clearly among the best I have experienced. Day by day, the feeling of being in the right place gets stronger,” he says, smiling.

The new project manager hopes that customers will not hesitate to contact him with their queries.

Tuotekehitystä eri aloille

The engineer has experience in industrial safety, and he is happy to be working in a company that offers state-of-the-art solutions for improving occupational safety.

“Nowadays, industrial operators luckily understand the importance of safe working environments,” Koljonen states.

The operational environment poses challenges to which the project manager is happy to respond. The ever-stricter industrial safety regulations are met cost-efficiently, while putting the customer first.

Another challenge of the new job is product development. Koljonen is thinking specifically about introducing OC-System products into the chemical industry. The products add very little to the fire load of the location. They could be further developed to keep gaseous and other harmful substances caused by the production process inside the insulating structures. This would reduce the employees’ exposure to chemicals. The working environment would be less stressful and more comfortable.

“We can provide novel solutions for different sectors. New products guarantee a safe and pleasant working environment for everyone,” Koljonen summarizes.
